4 Companies with a Great Employer Brand Thanks to Social Media
Yesterday, we gave you a definition of employer branding, as well as some considerations that you should take into account when building your employer brand.
Employer branding is all about establishing connections–and one way to do that is through your presence on social media. So today, we’re going to give you our pick of great employer brands who can thank social media for their status.
The Marriott
The most interactive of the bunch, Marriot’s employer brand Marriott Careers is all about giving a play-by-play commentary of what it’s like to be a part of hotel management.
Check out their Instagram, Pinterest boards, and Twitter feed, or immerse yourself in their Facebook app My Marriot Hotel™.
Starbucks
Starbucks seems to abide by a “sharing is caring” mantra.
Focusing on storytelling, Starbucks’ Instagram account and Pinterest boards allow users to post pictures of their Starbucks experience. They even used their Facebook account to let fans decide (through sharing and city shout outs) which city would be the first to get the seasonal Pumpkin Spice latte. Giving your customers that much say in how your company does things definitely puts an impression on them, especially those who are interested in applying.
And, if you still aren’t impressed, just take a look at Starbucks’ recently-launched “tweet-a-coffee” program, which allows you to send $5 Starbucks Card eGifts to Twitter friends and followers.
General Electric
GE is the heavyweight contender of the group when it comes to image-laden content. Both their Instagram account and Pinterest boards (and even tumblr account) are filled with all of the awesome machinery and designs that employees are putting together.
Pepsi
PepsiCo, the parent company of Pepsi, Frito-Lay and Tropicana, is a people pleaser. Look at their Google+ and you will seen nothing but praise on all levels, even down to the intern. It’s hard to imagine a better situation than that.
Whether you choose Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, or even Google+, improving your employer brand via social media can do a lot to give you the exposure you need, maybe even putting you on one of these best-of lists (here, here, here, and here). No matter what you do, remember to set up a foundation first–and from there, enhance your brand with social media.
