Navstar is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to support a high-profile client based in the Northern Virginia area. This role will require extensive CONUS travel. Candidates must be skilled in designing large- and small- scale campus and wide area networking (WAN) solutions. Role Description: Plans network design, layout and develops the baseline configuration for the system. Create detailed and accurate supporting documentation (engineering orders, Bill of Materials, etc.) to complete assigned tasks. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements and provides recommendations and guidance. Briefs government customer and other contractors on recommended solutions and designs. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to users to operation staff. Perform general network administration duties as needed. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Perform cable infrastructure tasks. 75% CONUS travel in support of site surveys, installation, and other duties as assigned. Participates in special projects as required. Required Skills and Qualifications: To be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance, polygraph preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field. At least 7 years' experience with network operating systems (Cisco, Juniper; Novell and Windows Server); network hardware (routers; switches; cabling and other essential network hardware); and LAN/WAN protocols (OSPF; BGP; MPLS). Type 1 Encryption. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP) or equivalent hands-on experience.
