Job Description

Nebraska Spine Center is looking for a talented person to join our organization in the position of Medical Receptionist.

Duties:

  • Check in patients for appointments and verify all demographic and insurance information
  • Answer and direct calls to appropriate departments
  • Schedule patient appointments following office protocol
  • Perform other related clerical duties as required
  • Collect co-pays and personal payments as required
  • Verify insurance eligibility, deductible and copays
  • Assist in medical records releases according to protocol and HIPAA guidelines

Requirements:

  • Computer literacy to include Windows and Microsoft Office products
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Prefer three to five years experience within a medical office
  • EMR experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Basic understanding of insurance plans, eligibility, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Ability to collect patient financial responsibility at time of service
  • Knowledge of medical record regulations

 

Orthopaedic experience a definite plus
