Description

The Manufacturing Engineer (Electrical) will drive project management; engineering project scheduling effectiveness, production process continuous improvement, and LEAN manufacturing techniques for the Irrigation and Infrastructure production processes. Work with production personnel, other Lindsay engineers, management, and outside vendors to improve the yield and quality of existing products. Be the point person for new product development trials and scale-up in your operational areas. Individual must be a precision-oriented professional with highly developed leadership qualities.

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
  • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process
  • Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas
  • Participate/Leads in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaboration and cohesion
  • Promotes and guides others to lead continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
  • Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of electrical principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
  • Detail portions of projects using schematic or conceptual layouts.
  • May serve as designated client contact on projects.
  • Perform field activities such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area.
  • Perform and document technical design reviews with other disciplines on the project team to produce the highest level of quality.
  • Interface with clients, utility companies, construction administrators, project team and vendors.
  • Assume the lead engineerâ??s role on assigned projects.
  • Maintains plant electrical and control systems documentation. Requires generation and revisions of CAD files, manual drawings, control logic logs, equipment specifications, etc.
  • Plans, recommends, designs and supervises the installation and commissioning of projects which are of electrical or control system and/or data acquisition systems in nature, or require electrical engineering support.
  • Designs and conducts specific training relating to electrical systems, maintenance, equipment, etc. for technicians and electricians.
  • Knowledge of robotics systems for testing and maintaining of overall systems.
  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical control circuitry to include, three-phase installations, contactors, motor starters, VFDs, relays, timers and various sensing equipment.
  • Installs, configures, and tests operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • An Associateâ??s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years design experience in product manufacturing or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or other applicable Engineering major with 3+ year experience
  • Electro mechanic background.
  • Strong Automation skills and knowledge on: Siemens, AB, B&R, Elau.
  • Be able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with CAD and or Solid Work programs
