The Agency Underwriting Assistant, assists underwriters by entering submissions into AMS, and information into rating software, prepares accounts, reviews, and processes endorsements and/or handles renewal underwriting activity. Prepares, processes, and issues binders and policies, cancellation, and reinstatement transactions along with regulatory filings and corresponding invoices. Communicates with agents for missing information, signed documentation and clarification of various items on behalf of the underwriters.

This position will be with Pacific Gateway Insurance Agency in Valencia, California, and is hybrid eligible at management discretion. This position is NOT eligible for employment visa sponsorship of any kind.

What will you do?

• Identifies and/or reviews proper classification of risk, potentially entering the risk into the rating software. Orders, examines, and evaluates inspection reports, MVR's, loss data, audits, and other available information to determine degree of risk to make changes within authority level or recommendations to Underwriters.
• Enters submissions into AMS and clears for agents. Requests updated information from agents such as driver s lists, stated values, building values, building ages, construction types, and other risk exposures.
• Prepares billing for new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.

What are we looking for?

• High school diploma or GED AND two years college or equivalent work experience.
• One or more years work experience
• Understanding of basic math and rating
• Personal related software such as Microsoft Office Suite products proficiency

In accordance with state pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith salary range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this job is $22 - $26 per hour based on the primary posting location of Santa Clarita, California. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
