Job Description Summary:
The Early Childhood Policy Analyst is primarily responsible for research and analysis related to early childhood systems. This position, in collaboration with team members, will develop high-impact insights and recommendations in response to real-world questions about the policies and funding of the early childhood system.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience or Master's degree plus five (5) years of experience in early childhood
• Knowledge of public policy environment and systems at a state-level
• Knowledge of state-level government agencies and structure, demonstrated by work with, in or about agencies of state government
Desired Qualifications (in addition to the qualifications listed above)
• Knowledge of federal and state financing mechanisms for early childhood
• Knowledge of state agencies and structure, demonstrated by work with, in or about the state agencies
• Expressed knowledge of Transforming the Financing of Early Childhood Education by the National Academies of Sciences
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities is acquired may be considered.
The ideal candidate will serve as a thought partner; engage in team problem-solving; share knowledge and insights on emerging trends and changes in education policy; and contribute to knowledge creation and insight generation. They will have an interest in and commitment to grappling with complex issues with an empirical approach and engage thoughtfully and respectfully with others on conflicting viewpoints and present interpretations grounded in evidence.

Applicants should note the goals of the Institute are university- and state-wide, but the location of the Institute administration will be in Omaha. This position will work out of the Omaha office.
