E&A interns are provided with structured activities in addition to gaining exposure to the day-to-day workings of the departments that they support and the roles that these groups play in our industry.

Description

We are seeking an two Interns within the Environmental Services Department in our Omaha office for our 2025 Summer Internship Program.  Our environmental team focuses on environmental compliance which includes Phase I ESAs, Wetland Services, Erosion & Sediment Control, Industrial Stormwater Permitting, and Post Construction Stormwater Management. The ideal Intern candidate for this team will be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.  Additionally, this candidate will:

  • Gain exposure to the day-to-day workings of the Environmental Services Department  
  • Learn about and assist with inspections of erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMP)’s on various types of construction projects and actions required after inspection 
  • Assist in performing Post-Construction Storm Water inspections and Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s) and Wetland Delineations
  • Participate in inspections, permitting, and SWPPP creation associated with NPDES General Permit for Industrial Storm Water Dischargers

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program for Environmental Studies, Construction, Engineering, Biology, Natural Resources, or related
  • Sophomore standing with year required work completed in May 2025
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficient math skills and ability to read various construction plans and documents
  • Ability to effectively work independently or with a team
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record & reliable vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Junior standing with required course work completed in May 2024
  • Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Demonstrated experience in the Environmental, Construction, or related industry experience
