SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Professionals at this level are highly experienced and well known in the community. Specific project, program, or office responsibilities may occur at this level. Training in supervision and management is encouraged.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree and/or equivalent experience and demonstrated success in job areas preferred.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred
  • Minimum of eight years experience leading successful annual and major gift campaigns is required.
  • Experience in implementing successful planned giving initiatives is required.
  • Extensive personal and professional network with local donors is highly preferred.
  • Ability to develop and sustain meaningful and purposeful contacts with individuals in the community representing the professional, corporate, and financial sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and mentor others to achieve shared goals.
  • Effective teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skill in public relations, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social media and other innovative methodologies to connect with fast growing but underrepresented stakeholder groups (e.g. the Millennial Generation, the Hispanic/Latino community, global philanthropists, etc.).
  • Passion about the mission of HFS and the communities we serve.
  • Valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy to raise funds from individual, corporate and foundation donors.
  • Implements the annual appeal, major gift, and planned giving programs.
  • Grows the agency’s endowment and meets the fundraising goals, including training, follow-up, and support.
  • Increases HFS’ visibility in the community and recruits new stakeholders to the agency.
  • Facilitates productive and engaged relationships with all HFS stakeholders.
  • Ensures a highly coordinated approach to all fundraising, communications, marketing, public relations efforts and activities.
  • Manages the department’s budget and ensures all fundraising and marketing/public relations goals are met.
  • Ensures both internal and external customers’ (staff, Board members, Friends of HFS Guild, volunteers, donors, etc.) expectations are consistently exceeded.
  • Participates on the Leadership Team and assists in creating and implementing the overall vision and strategic plan for the agency.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of HFS.
  • Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Abides by all HFS procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
  • *Creates, maintains and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • * Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency’s ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts.
  • * The essential functions of this job are to be performed on the company physical work site
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
