Nebraska Orthopaedic Associates, L.L.P., is among the most experienced and trusted orthopaedic practices in the region. William R. Hamsa, Sr., M.D., started the practice after earning his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completing an orthopaedic residency in the late 1930s. He was joined in the practice by Louis Campbell, M.D., following World War II. Dwight Burney, Jr., M.D., became the third partner in the practice in the late 1950s and was followed in 1965 by William R. Hamsa, Jr., M.D.
Over the life of the practice, Nebraska Orthopaedic Associates has evolved into one of the premier orthopaedic private practices in the Midwest. Today, the practice has grown to two Omaha locations and is staffed by seven highly-respected, board certified orthopaedic surgeons, trained in the sub-specialties of sports medicine and total & partial joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery and hand surgery. In addition to Nebraska Orthopaedic Associates sub-specialtion, they provide fracture and general orthopaedics care. The practice also provides care for patients at several outreach clinics throughout Nebraska and western Iowa.
