Boys Town National Research Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Neurologist with fellowship training and/or substantial experience in the treatment of children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders toserve the needs of patients atBoys Town National Research Hospital (BTNRH).This individual will work with our rapidly expanding Neurodevelopmental team to , diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric patients suffering from specific neurologic and developmental disorders, mainly including Autism, Downs Syndrome, and developmental disorders related to neurogenetic conditions . This role may also include involvement in clinical research, clinical trials, as well as basic research and translational research.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct subspecialty of pediatrics care in neurology to Hospital and Clinic patients.
  • Coordinates the development of pediatric neurology services at BTNRH.
  • Serves as a medical member of multi-disciplinary evaluation and remediation teams with special responsibilities for the care of children and adolescents with neurological disorders.
  • Cooperates with other Hospital staff members in the conduct of clinical and/or basic research projects.
  • Participates in and/or conducts the various educational programs developed by Boys Town National Research Hospital in undergraduate and graduate medicine, continuing education, nursing, related allied health fields, and research projects, if desired.
  • Participates in the development of program /project objectives, sub-objectives, and staffing needs for the medical program as may be required for sound management decision making.
  • Undertakes special projects as directed by the Director, Boys Town National Research Hospital.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
    • Ability to serve effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, involving non-physicians, dealing with children and adolescents with multiple medical needs.
    • Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with hospital staff.
    • Ability to communicate concisely, both orally and in writing, with patients, families, and staff, and collaborate with other members of the health care team to enhance patient care.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of professional behavior and ethics.
    • Ability to make assessments and problem solve.
    • Ability to maintain complete and accurate records of all patient encounters.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited medical school, required.
  • Accredited Residency and/or Fellowship Training in Pediatrics, Neurology and Child Neurology leading to eligibility for Board Certification in the subspecialty of Child Neurology.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Board Certification in Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Medical licensure in the State of Nebraska required.
  • Post-fellowship experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to qualify for hospital staff privileges at Boys Town National Research Hospital and maintain those privileges.
