You will learn how to be transparent, open and engaged by understanding emerging trends, providing vision and by honing your interpersonal skills. December 14, 2016Â –Â Session 2:Â Â Creativity & Innovation Gain an understanding of the importance of creativity and innovation in the growth of an organization. We will explore fostering an innovative organizational culture through creative thinking methods that generate ideas & solutions. You will learn teaching and coaching tools to encourage behaviors that positively impact creativity and innovation in an organization. We will also take a look at the fundamentals of applying creative thought, divergent thinking, imagination and looking at technology related issues from multiple angles in order to determine and implement a solution which might otherwise elude the non-creative thinker. January 11, 2017Â –Â Session 3: Strategic Planning You will learn how to create a clear vision for integrating IT with the business, measuring success within IT and prioritizing the highest value IT projects. This session will feature several methods of strategic planning such as the SWOT Analysis technique, Porterâ€™s Five Forces and the use of Information Technology to aid in Planning and Implementation, all the while teaching practical applications of how to align IT with business and organization strategies. February 8, 2017Â –Â Session 4: Â Communication Skills You will discover the 3 dynamics of communication that impact your rapport with others and identify the FireTermsÂ© (words to avoid) that contribute to miscommunications. You will also learn the 5 rules of Connector QuestionsÂ© leading to increased communication efficiency and discover new ways to handle conflict resolution. Finally, you will explore unique ways to communicate with the â€śnon IT fluentâ€ť end user without sounding condescending. March 8, 2017Â –Â Session 5: Leadership You will learn the key elements of leadership that include self-knowledge and development, working with teams within the culture and how leadership is crucial to a company’s growth and productivity. Discover when and why you want to take the lead as well as how to take the lead. Learn the difference between Mentoring, Coaching & Advocate relationships. You will take a personal leadership journey using the concept of a mind map. This session will also cover handling both cultural and ethnic diversity within the workplace. April 12, 2017Â –Â Session 6: CIO Perspectives You will understand the power of business roles â€“ interfacing with the business, what their â€ślanguageâ€ť is (what they care about most), strategic relationship building with the business, Industry Trends, Project ROI/Impact and buy in from the business. We will also cover translating IT to business – presenting a business case for an IT project and CIO challenges. The afternoon will consist of a panel discussion and case study with top CIOâ€™s from local companies represented such as TVA, EPB, Unum, etc. May 10, 2017Â –Â Session 7: Self-Management Thought precedes action; create the life you desire. Start with a clear set of goals, learn how to manage conflicting priorities and to say no, and use a task matrix to delegate effectively without micro-managing. Motivation is internal; learn how to continue to stay driven, alive and energized. Self-awareness is the #1 characteristic of high performing leaders. Self-awareness is having a balanced and honest view of your own personality and often the ability to interact with others frankly and confidently.
