Job Seekers: Navigating your Way through the AIM Careerlink Site

The same goes for our very own site. Here at AIM, we’ve made navigating your way through the Careerlink site a breeze so you can waste less time fumbling around with the search engine, and more time looking for your next career!

To show you how easy it is, we’ve put together a quick guide on some of the basics you’ll need to know in order to enhance your job search experience. Take a look below:

How to Sign Up for a Careerlink.com Account

Creating an account on the Careerlink site is super fast and easy. Simply click on “Sign-up as a Job Seeker” tab located on the left hand side of the screen. From there you will be prompted to fill out a form with your name, e-mail address and password. Our site also allows you to sign up using your Facebook account, which is a great way to streamline all the accounts you have and manage your information.

On top of all that, there is no need to wait for an activation email, meaning you can start job searching the moment you sign up!

Setting Up Your Profile and the Dashboard Feature

Once you’ve logged in, you will have an opportunity to set up your profile and manage your account. The great thing about the Careerlink site is the dashboard feature, which allows you to see how much of your profile you have completed and what still needs to be filled in.

While also on the dashboard page, you can take a look at your recent job applications (filed under the Jobs column), manage your account and profile (located under the Account column), and stay in touch with important current events like upcoming career fairs, employers who are new the Careerlink site, as well as featured employers we think you should get to know.

Using the Search Engine

Our search engine may seem standard at first glance, but we’ve put a lot of time and effort into making sure that you get the most accurate results possible. Here is what we have to offer:

Options. By scrolling through the skills and industry tabs, you’ll see that we’ve listed quite a number of skills and industries to choose from, allowing you to narrow down your choice to a very specific field and skill set.
Jobs can also be found based on career, employer, industry, and geography, giving you plenty of options if you aren’t quite sure what you are looking for.
Job Search Agent Feature. Careerlink also features a customizable job search agent that allows you to save and manage your job searches for later. In turn, you don’t have to spend time manually searching every time; the job search agent feature will send results to your notice box as they pop up.
Keyword Search Visibility. Included in our search engine is the keyword search visibility feature, which allows employers to look for job seekers based on their recent searches. This means that your job searches won’t go unnoticed. Having that much visibility can do a lot to help connect you with like-minded employers looking for the next best candidate. Just be sure to have an active resume, otherwise the search visibility option will not work.
If you’d rather not have employers know what you search for, you can simply turn off the feature. Scroll down to the Account column located on the Dashboard page and click on “Change Keyword Search Visibility”, from there uncheck the box that says “Allow employers to find me based on my recent search terms.” Once you’ve clicked submit you will no longer have your searches visible to employers.
