Are you a great fact-finder who's detail-oriented and also enjoys helping people?  Wests Health Advocate department is looking to hire a Research Associate - Healthcare for our Plymouth Meeting Office. Our Research Associates are in charge of finding the right doctors and specialists for our members by combing through websites and reference materials to locate providers that are in-network and local to the members that need to see them.

As a Research Associate you will be responsible for:

  • Learning and assisting with general data collection processes to gather basic contact and general healthcare information from identified websites and reference materials in order to appropriately respond to basic client and member questions in regards to healthcare related matters

As assigned:

  • Research, identify, and document primary care physicians', dentists', and limited specialist's contact information into the department database to ensure accurate material is available to clients and members
  • This may include navigating insurance websites
  • Learn and develop basic understanding of the department information system, member's common questions and answers, validated resources for information collection, and other area policies and procedures


 Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • High School Degree or GED required
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, liberal arts, public health, healthcare management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum one year experience in a customer service role, ideally related to a healthcare environment is preferred
  • Minimum one year experience utilizing general office equipment such as a phone and computer is preferred
  • Previous experience compiling data and creating reports is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Must score acceptably on job related testing
  • Based on program may need to be bilingual in English, Spanish, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of web navigation preferred
  • Ability to pass a standardized interview
