General Position Summary

Designs, implements, supports, maintains, and upgrades computer hardware and system software and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.

WoodmenLife is looking to add a Linux System Engineer to our team!

We are currently searching for either a Linux System Engineer or a SR. Linux System Engineer Administrator with 5 to 10 years or more of hands on experience with Linux System administration, to join our team! WoodmenLife is a solid financial company with 130 year history looking for a Linux System Engineer rock star to help us maintain and build on our industry leading edge in Customer Support and technical excellence. What we are looking for:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10 years of experience in a multi-platform server based hardware and operating system environment required.
  • Red Hat Linux experience.
  • Working experience in VMware vSphere.
  • Experience with containers (Docker).
  • Experience with SAN(s) would be a bonus (NetApp, Dell, etc…)
  • Experience with automation software would be a bonus (Puppet).
  • Must be able to work independently (self-guided and directed).
  • Ability to work in an on call environment.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology.
  • Ability to design, write, test, and implement system and application scripting.
