The Systems administrator 3 is responsible for installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of server hardware, operating systems and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure along with ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, and related procedures adhere to corporate standards.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Contribute/Develop system standards and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, reviewing system logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
Manage and/or assist in daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted customers.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Upgrade and configure system software that supports applications per project or operational needs.
Assist with maintaining operational, configuration, and/or other procedures.
Administer VMware ESX environment (Build Hosts, perform upgrades, build VM's)
Support / Maintain O365 environment including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Azue and Intune
Maintain Active Directory and create/change group policies as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience preferred
Six Years of related experience
Experience with VBscript debugging
Major skills: Windows Server 2008 2016, VMWARE ESX 6.0 (Building and maintaining environment), SAN Storage, Brocade Fabric Switches, Server Class Hardware (Dell), Citrix 7.15 Administration with NetScaler experience.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and experience with Group Policies. ADFS experience a plus
