As a business analyst, you are in a unique position to bridge the gap between the worlds of business and technology. You speak just enough of the language of both organizations to ensure they understand each others requirements and strategies. You can tell the story of the products you support in a way that developers have a clear direction and can build excellent features and functionality. You dont take the status quo as a given and encourage innovation in both products and processes.
We believe you will be successful with us if:
You are highly analytical - gut feel is not your game. You can formulate opinions based on data and the patterns you see in the data. Your focus is on details and driving for clarity in ambiguous requirements.
You enjoy solving problems - both by yourself and in a team. When you see a gap you can creatively formulate a possible solution and get an agreement from the right stakeholders.
You keep an open mind and can collaboratively work with others.
You enjoy getting into specifics of technical requirements and are good at communicating the details to a non-technical audience without getting them lost.
You can use visual tools (ex. graphs, charts) to tell the story of your analysis and requirements.
You are good at working on multiple projects at the same time and can prioritize what happens next even when scope changes or the business focus shifts.
You have experience with coding, can run database queries, and have used statistical and reporting packages (Tableau is a bonus).
Your motivation to be at work feeds from seeing your efforts come to life, being part of a strong team and the gratification in tackling the next business gap.
You have a strong work ethic and feel satisfaction at helping the company grow.
What you will do as part of our team:
You will meet with the business stakeholders and customers to understand the details of their use cases/workflows and translate your findings into requirements for the development teams.
You will work very closely with the product owner and the development teams to detail the technical requirements (using tools such as Jira) and will support our agile development methodology.
You will dig deeper into the requirements and communicate those to our teams until everyone is on the same page of what should be delivered.
You will help prioritize use cases and requirements based on the business value we look to deliver.
You will analyze data and look for opportunities where we can provide further business value.
You will help our team think creatively to come up with solutions that are not simply based on past experiences.
You will help educate and train customers and stakeholders on the technology we are developing.
You will help develop metrics that assist us in understanding how well our teams operate, the quality of the code we develop and the overall success of the products we create. Then you will help us consistently measure those metrics.
You will continuously learn about transportation and logistics and will apply that knowledge to our product strategy.
You will likely work on a variety of projects, often at the same time.
And yes, there are a few things we probably missed above that fall into "other duties as assigned" category.
Our commitment to you:
Provide you with the right tools and data you require to get your work done successfully.
You will become part of the Werner Family and be surrounded by a team that cares for you as a person and as a team member.
We will provide you with challenging problems to solve, so you are consistently growing personally and in your career.
