    A Brief Summary of This Position:

    The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing their staff and the maintenance of production equipment. This position will ensure that all systems are fully operational and inspected in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules. Plans and coordinates preventative, predictive maintenance and equipment repair programs.  Prepares cost estimates for maintenance jobs and inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.

    Essential Functions:

    • Ensure that property and equipment are kept in excellent condition
    • The incumbent works closely with management to improve production process and productivity
    • Oversee implementation of equipment improvement projects
    • Implement and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs both internally and with outside vendors
    • Ensure necessary maintenance supplies and critical spare parts are available
    • Ensure equipment operates with maximum uptime and efficiency to help increase manufacturing productivity
    • Provide direct leadership and support for Maintenance employees on a daily basis
    • Ensure all safety systems, processes, and policies are being adhered to at all times
    • Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement
    • Preparing and utilizing a Lean tools and techniques to eliminate waste and improve processes
    • Lead day-to-day activities to ensure that current commitments are achieved
    • Communicate departmental, divisional, and Company information to all employees on a regular basis
    • This position reports into the Senior Plant Manager and may have 20-25 direct reports
    • Manage department cost to align with the budget parameters (personnel, equipment, parts, etc.)
    • Assist with preparation of project appropriation requests and follow approval processes
    • Ensure that property and equipment are kept in excellent condition
    • The incumbent works closely with management to improve production process and productivity

    • Ensure necessary maintenance supplies and critical spare parts are available
    • Ensure equipment operates with maximum uptime and efficiency to help increase manufacturing productivity
    • Other duties as assigned

    Other Important Details about the Role:

    • Make recommendations for capital expenditures to optimize the benefits for personnel, materials, and equipment
    • Ensure plant is in compliance with all federal and state guidelines to minimize the frequency and severity of industrial accidents and maintain environmental requirements
    • Work with outside contractors taking bids and explaining requirements for work to be performed within the plan and conduct final inspection of that work
    • Thorough knowledge of equipment and processes in assigned areas
    • Ability to effectively interpret and present information both one-on-one and in front of groups
    • Proven managerial skills (previous management/supervisory related work history)
    • Ability to interact effectively with internal customers and suppliers/vendors
    • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

    Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

    • High school diploma and 7+ years of relevant experience or Associates Degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Bachelors with 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Strong leadership, problem solving, planning, communication, and motivational skills
    • Proficient using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Attention to detail and accuracy while working in a fast paced environment with  multiple deadlines
    • The trait of being organized or following a systemic method of performing a task
    • Thorough knowledge of equipment and processes in assigned areas
    • Ability to effectively interpret and present information both one-on-one and in front of groups
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or idea
    • Judgment and decision making skills while comparing relative cost and benefit potential
    • Proven managerial skills (previous management/supervisory related work history)
    • Ability to interact effectively with internal customers and suppliers/vendors
    • Ability to inspire, motivate, develop and direct people. Identify the best person for each task at hand
    • Analytical Skills and the ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
    • Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

    Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

    If you have preferred qualifications, like more experience, industry specific experience or additional education, simply list them followed by â??preferredâ?.

    • Bachelorâ??s Degree in Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred
    • 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation 
    • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing is  preferred
    • Financial experience including P & L responsibilities
