Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to pick-up and deliver fabricated steel products to/from steel fabricators. Also included are the following duties:
Drives truck to customer destination and returns to the plant.
Inspects truck and trailers for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
Oversees repairs to truck and equipment, reports issues to dispatcher.
Maintains Electronic Logging Device (ELD) according to Department of Transportation (DOT) and company regulations.
Assists workers in loading and unloading truck making certain the truck is loaded safely and according to DOT and company regulations.
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water. Makes additions as necessary. Must be able to make necessary road repairs to lights, fuel system filters, etc.
Acts as a customer service representative of the company, and is always concerned with maintaining excellent customer relations with all customers.

Responsibility for Environment
Each employee is responsible for the general knowledge of site chemical hazards and general site emergency procedures to include notification and evacuation routing and signals. Must be familiar with the site emergency plan.
Working Conditions
Employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, non-toxic fumes and airborne particles, blowing dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, proximity to extreme heat, and moving mechanical parts. Inside environmental conditions allow protection from the weather, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Some outside work required involving exposure to environmental conditions. Requires the ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety and emergency response as listed in the site Release Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan.
