How you will Contribute:

E-Learning Instructional Design Intern will work directly with our Global Learning team, creating several types of learning resources for Valmont customers, dealers, agents, and employees. You will partner with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and develop training materials. You will discover how a Learning Management System (LMS) is used to lead employee development in a corporate setting. Also, they will gain experience in general LMS administration, including online course publishing, end-user technical support and basic reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • You will report into the Manager of Global Learning and has no direct reports
  • This role does not require travel (internationally/domestically), or overnight stays
  • Partner with subject matter experts to analyze the training needs of Valley Irrigation dealers, customers, and employees
  • Use adult learning principles and instructional strategies to design impactful training programs
  • Develop a variety of training materials including eLearning courses, instructor-led training workshops, tutorial videos, and other multimedia resources
  • Provide project management and design support to other E-Learning Instructional Designers
  • Review and implement online training resources in the Valmont LMS
  • Provide technical support to end-users of the Valmont LMS

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritizing work
  • Use critical thinking skills to overcome complex challenges
  • Use eLearning course authoring tools including Articulate 360
  • Learn video and audio production methods techniques, software and equipment
  • Use graphic design methods, techniques, software and equipment
  • Think creatively to make learning resources understandable, interactive and engaging
  • Accomplish basic administrative and reporting tasks in the Valmont LMS

What it takes:

  • Previous experience or coursework in 1+ the following areas: instructional design, graphic design, multimedia production, training facilitation, digital marketing, curriculum development or other teaching experience
  • Experience using digital video and audio production equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal) with ability to translate and narrate

Highly qualified candidates will also possess

  • Experience delivering face-to-face training
  • Experience with Adobe Audition, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop, and Camtasia
  • Fluency in Portuguese, French, Russian, or Arabic

Work Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. You are required to sit for extended periods of time, talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. The environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. You are frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. You are occasionally required to move about the office. You must use proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
