A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Associate Accountant reports to the Coatings Division, Senior Accounting Manager.Â This individual contributor role will be involved in monitoring compliance with policies and procedures for controlling the accounting functions of the Valmont Coatings Division including accounting systems, internal controls, records, and reports. This position is responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts to sub ledgers, identifying accounting process improvements, and producing monthly reconciliations and reports. This position also performs accounting functions pertaining to Coatings Division month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings and provides support and assistance to the accounting staff at each of the Coatings locations, which includes researching problems and finding solutions to them.

Work is typically performed in an office setting.Â The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings.Â Â Â Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time.Â Some travel maybe required for this position.Â The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer.Â The employee is occasionally required to move about the office.Â Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment.Â Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
