Drafter/Field Technician - Part Time

Cascade Earth Sciences (CES) provides services to food processors, agricultural producers, government agencies, and the resource extraction industry. Our interdisciplinary staff is comprised of agricultural, environmental, civil, and chemical engineers; agronomists and soil scientists; geologists and hydrogeologists; and technical and business specialists. Our team is made up of individuals who go the extra mile for their clients, who aren't afraid to work hard or take ownership of client's needs, but, at the same time, are part of a collaborative, fun environment. The Part-Time Drafter prepares drawings and coordinates multiple drafting tasks with drafters, designers and project managers. The expectation is that this position will work a minimum of 25 hours per week and may work as many as 40 hours as business needs arise. The Drafter position is considered part-time and is eligible for benefits.
The duties of the Part Time Drafter are to complete a wide range of drafting projects. Work will be done primarily using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D. The Part-Time Drafter will prepare drawings, make red-line revisions, and work directly with the primary drafter to coordinate multiple drafting tasks.
The duties of the Part Time Field Technician are to provide technical services on municipal, agricultural, and industrial projects by conducting field-sampling activities for groundwater, surface water, and soil using established sampling protocol.
Basic Qualifications (Required):
Valid U.S. driver's license
The ability to work periodic overtime when required for business needs
Experience using a version of AutoCAD (2007 or newer)
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Physically able and willing to travel occasionally (i.e., approximately one to two times per month) to conduct field sampling events outdoors including collection of soil and groundwater samples
Additional Qualifications (Required):
Strong visualization skills and eye for detail
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
The ability to effectively prioritize and complete multiple tasks
A strong mathematical ability
The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
Associates degree, a technical Drafting certification or 6 years drafting/engineering work experience
Minimum of one year experience using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D
Professional work experience in a consulting environment
Arc GIS experience
Formal education or experience in environmental, chemistry, soil, geology or related science/engineering
