A Brief Summary of This Position:

In this individual contributor role, the Maintenance Clerk performs routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures. Duties include photocopying, compiling records, filing, tabulating, posting information, and distributing mail. The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for applying knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general understanding of other departments' functions to complete daily duties. The Maintenance Clerk is accountable for receiving all parts, scheduling PM's, maintaining the crib, keeping records of requests and services rendered, and requisitioning supplies for maintenance.  The Maintenance Clerk works with maintenance techs on a daily basis and maintains records, prepares forms, verifies information and resolves routine problems.

Essential Functions:

  • Receives all maintenance parts and purchase orders
  • Verifies invoices, files paperwork, manages Crib minimum and maximums
  • Schedules preventive maintenance and coordinates with maintenance manager and maintenance personnel.
  • Keep records of labor, requisitions, and work orders, hazard reports.
  • Creates PMs and runs reports
  • Delivers and picks up parts outside of plant.
  • Orders parts
  • Sets up new equipment in IFS
  • Works with other maintenance areas as needed
  • Works closely with maintenance personnel and provide assistance as needed

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and has no direct reports

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): 6-12 bullets

  • High School diploma and 1+ year of experience
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to use a calculator
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving math skills
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple distractions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in face-to-face meetings, over the phone and on the radio
  • Ability to wear all required PPE and work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, cold, and operating noise.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of relevant professional work experience
  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in a related position
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving math skills
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple distractions
  • Possess a high degree of self-motivation and organization with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to use IFS software
  • Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in a plant or maintenance shop setting.  The incumbent is regularly required to regularly walk, stand and sit, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings.    Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time.  No travel requirements for this position.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer.  The employee is occasionally required to move about the office and manufacturing plant.  Employee must be able to wear any and all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to steel toe, metatarsal boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility vest.  Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds in working with boxes, parts, large files, binders, and computer equipment.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. This position may require walking, standing, lifting, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and kneeling in rare instances.
