How you will contribute Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Maintenance to assist in various maintenance duties. Additionally, you will Be one of two maintenance personnel on first shift. Responsible for preventative and facility maintenance. Working on/with compressors, VAC, chillers, pumps, conveyors, ovens, facility painting, carpentry, paint guns and other painting equipment. Must wear boots at all times and other PPE when necessary. Able to stand and move 90% of the time, kneel and bend 25% of the time. Ability to work in adverse conditions: wet, hot, dusty, dirty and cold. Have the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform repairs. Show interest for improvement and advancement Good organizational and communication skills, as well as ability to get along with others. Mandatory overtime on weekends as necessary. Work with a safety oriented attitude, insure a safe work environment The ability to work with a diverse group of people Training- Six months internal training by shadowing existing maintenance personnel Knowledge of proper safety in regards to hazardous waste handling containers. Waste minimization. Emergency Response and Contingency and Hazardous Communication / Right to Know Lean initiative and Core Competencies. What it takes Required Qualifications High school graduate Be able to lift/carry 50 pounds Proficient in reading blue prints and electrical schematics. Knowledge in Hydraulic, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Electrical Able to weld and braze, perform general plumbing functions and some carpentry knowledge Refrigeration/HVAC & Electrical training at a Vocational Institute preferred 1+ years mechanical/ electrical experience preferred Able to work alone or with others without issue.
