Lead Information Security Engineer

The Lead Information Security Engineer will primarily reside at the customer's program office and will provide Certification and Accreditation (C&A) support to the customer. The Lead Information Security Engineer will write and maintain Program System Security Plans and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) in accordance with ICD 503.  Additionally they will provide Systems Engineering, Operations Security and some minor user management responsibilities.  Shall be able to conduct research and have comfort level and skills necessary to articulate certification and accreditation issues and recommendations to all levels of Government counterparts and leadership.


Job Description

  • Network certification and accreditation (C&A) in accordance with ICD 503.
  • Develop and maintain IT resiliency plans in accordance with customer regulations
  • Provide sustainment activities concerning security policies and practices
  • Systems engineering support related to the specification, design, development and analysis of communication systems to ensure ongoing security compliance
  • Assist network engineers maintain network management system workstations
  • User administration including access rights, passwords, and general application support for two customer systems
  • Assess security threats and implement system security procedures in a classified operational environment
  • Work with the Network Chief Engineer (NCE) to develop and implement strategic direction and planning for network services
  • Technical and management support providing oversight and guidance
  • Ad hoc analyses of technical and programmatic issues
  • Participate in contract activities related to operations security, Government cover, classification, and security office coordination
  • Develop operations security (OpSec) and information systems security (InfoSec) requirements and procedures, and provide security guidance


    Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 and preferably 10 or more years supporting Certification and Accreditation at all levels of classification
  • Ability to apply professional judgment in critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • CI Polygraph
  • Team orientated
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in MIS
  • CISSP/MCSE/MCSA/CCNA/A+/Network+ Certifications
  • Current TS/SSBI
  • Polygraph
  • Military Experience Preferred
