Business Development Manager (BDM) / Account Executive (AE)

Are you a strategic sales professional with 5+ years of experience in enterprise software, consulting, and service delivery?   Are you relentless in driving for growth and expansion for your company?  If you have a demonstrated track record of outperforming sales targets, achieving significant growth in revenue, and closing multimillion-dollar deals ” then this is the role for you.

This role, best described as a œclient partner and œcustomer advocate for the company's customer relationships, is ideally suited for a professional who will serve as the owner of four to six strategically important customer relationships.

The BDM/AE acts autonomously to achieve sales objectives within an entrepreneurial, meritocratic environment that values and rewards performance fosters meaningful professional growth and offers unique flexibility.  Expected travel ranges between 25-33% and will be dictated in large part by the strategy the AE sets for relationship development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and articulate how CenturyLink' core competencies in the Managed services and Technology Solutions such as SAP and Cloudera space and can address the customers' data insights, visualization and business decision making needs in the sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance area.
  • Understand the clients' business problems and be able to have an intelligent conversations around how CenturyLink can help provide a solution.
  • Sell CenturyLink software and services within the specified territory thru the direct, SAP, Cloud Era, Cisco and other partner channels. The primary focus and objective will be to develop new logo business along with the secondary focus on driving incremental business in the existing accounts.
  • Establish and maintain executive relationships with the Direct, SAP, Cloud Era, Cisco and other partner channels
  • Identify leads via channel partners, cold-calling, networking, events etc
  • Qualify leads into opportunities; manage the sales cycle and timely follow ups with the internal team and the partner / client personnel
  • Lead the development of project proposals including identifying and leading the pursuit team, writing strong value driven executive summaries, ensuring that the proposal completely and accurately addresses the client needs. Generate high impact proposals.
  • Maintain complete and accurate sales information, i.e. leads, accounts, contacts, activities and opportunities in a tool like Sales Force. Com
  • Achieve target quotas for bookings and earned revenue.
Required skill sets / background:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in selling complex, business and IT consulting services to Direct Customers and Tier 1 global services providers. Well documented track record of leading teams and achieving annual sales quotas of around $ 15-25M
  • SAP background preferred
  • Recent experience selling software and consulting services engagements in the $500K + range
  • Qualified applicants must demonstrate a consistent ability to exceed sales targets on a YOY basis
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, competitive sales culture
  • Ability to travel extensively as required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills

 

 

Min. Education: 

Undergraduate degree required. MBA degree strongly preferred.

Minimum 4 references at the C suite, VP or decision maker level
