Position Summary | A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, to work on an NIH-funded grant in the area of HIV infection, drug addiction, and neuroinflammation. The emphasis is on delineating the role of HIV and substance abuse on neuroinflammation and possible therapeutics using in vitro and in vivo mouse models. In addition, the successful candidate will also study the role of extracellular vesicles (exosomes) in various diseases and therapeutics. Several high-throughput “omics” approaches will also be applied. The successful candidate will work with a newly established investigator and will receive significant mentoring in manuscript/grant writing, including training junior trainees. |

Required Qualifications | Ph.D. in Biological Sciences Experience in one or more of the research approaches described in the position summary. Preference will be given to candidates with Pre/Postdoctoral research experience in neuroscience, pharmacology, and physiology. |
Supplemental Qualifications | Candidates should be well experienced in handling rodents. Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Graphpad Prism, and Microsoft Office is essential. Strong organizational and communications skills, and the ability to work independently and in a group setting is expected. |
