Position Summary | Geriatrician Opportunity in the Heart of the Midwest. The Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE invites energetic, motivated, and collegial physicians to join our faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing practice that provides care in outpatient and inpatient settings, nursing home settings, and promotes the popular interprofessional education programs of the larger Division. The selected candidate will join the medical staff of our hospital partner, Nebraska Medicine – the No. 1 rated hospital in the Omaha metro area and the state. Comprised of 38 members, including 24 physicians, the Division provides clinical care in the outpatient, inpatient, and nursing home settings. We work closely with other Divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine as well as other Departments to provide interdisciplinary patient care services. Our faculty is devoted to education at all levels from health professions students through fellowship and continuing education. The Division also conducts basic, translational, and clinical research related to Aging and Geriatrics. Our compensation package is extremely competitive. In addition, comprehensive benefits including relocation, CME and generous employer paid retirement are offered. The successful candidate must have an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified/eligible with fellowship training in internal medicine or family medicine. Candidates should have an interest in teaching along with passion to care for older patients in the outpatient, inpatient or nursing home setting.
