Vaccination Requirement

The University of Nebraska Medicine Center (UNMC) requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff, and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means having received one dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer).


As a prospective and/or a new employee at UNMC, you will be/are required to comply with the UNMC’s vaccination protocol. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers will have five (5) days from the date of hire to provide proof of partial or full vaccination or to request a medical or religious exemption. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with proof of partial vaccination may have up to thirty-five (35) days from the hire date to be in full compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be separated.

Position Summary
Conducts research relative to and in accordance with established protocols to study the role of free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the pathogenesis process, specifically pancreatic cancer. Ensures optimum utilization of laboratory facilities and resources. Provides support to the development and interpretation of research activities.

Ability to coordinate and supervise research activities.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree

Biology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology or related scientific field
Preferred Experience:
One or more years of advancing experience in a research or clinical laboratory setting.

Laboratory animal handling, genotpying and modeling.

Preferred Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in the following laboratory techniques: mammalian cell culture; DNA, RNA, and protein isolation; RNA quantification; PCR, RT-PCR, and quantitative real-time PCR; protein analysis including protein quantification, gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, IHC, and ELISA; flow cytometry; and slide preparation for confocal microscopy.

Skilled at animal testing and genotyping.

Able to manage a radioactive room.
