Assistant Teacher
Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher, provide for the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of the children. This role requires direct interaction and Care of Children:
Direct Interaction and Care of Children
1. Visual/auditory supervision of children at all times to ensure their safety and well being
2. Active participation with children in play and problem solving
3. Contact on the children’s level
4. Console, encourage, redirect, counsel and applaud children as situations warrant
5. Carry out lesson plans
6. Flexibility in adjusting to changing situations.
Maintain Cleanliness of Area / Paperwork
1. Sanitize areas according to guidelines
2. Keep rooms and toys in clean and working order
3. Store supplies and toys when not in use
4. Complete incident reports, CACFP food sheets
Parent Interaction
1. Greet parents upon arrival and departure
2. Exchange information regarding child’s needs, accomplishments and concern
