Faculty position in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Division at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Allied Health Professions based on either the Omaha or Kearney Nebraska campus, responsible for dynamic collaboration in an entry-level, clinical doctorate applicant program. Responsibilities include the development and teaching of a variety of courses based on content expertise; student advising and mentoring; University, community, and professional service; and scholarship at a level consistent with the appointment. The Capstone Coordinator will collaborate to develop an evidence-based, occupation-centered doctoral capstone program, to be delivered in person, on line or hybrid in support of the mission of the division: advance health through meaningful participation in everyday living for all people, populations, and communities. The curriculum design is founded on three themes: Occupation for health. Application of occupation-based and evidence-based intervention for current practice, leadership, education, and scholarship. Professional growth. Development of lifelong learners, demonstrating a commitment to professional standards and responsibilities. Translational science. Study of and process for sharing knowledge from practice for practice to increase quality and effectiveness of services to improve health. The Capstone Coordinator is responsible for connecting student learning needs to the needs of individuals and communities, and to faculty scholarship, culminating in dissemination. The Capstone Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the doctoral capstone reflects the sequence and scope of the content in the curriculum design and allows for the development of in-depth knowledge in one of the following areas: clinical practice skills, research skills, administration, leadership, program and policy development, advocacy, education, or theory development. The Capstone Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Occupation Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards Section D.1.0. Doctoral Capstone. Standards include but are not limited to: (1) Creation of doctoral capstone as an integral part of curriculum design (2) Coordination of doctoral capstone placements (3) Securing and maintaining memoranda of understanding (4) Prepare and engage students in developing individualized learning contracts. (5) Verifying community mentor qualifications (6) Coordination with community mentors (7) Collecting and verifying assessment of student performance (8) Collecting student assessment of site This position may require travel to other UNMC, community, and clinical sites.
