Job Description

The Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy invites applications for a tenure-leading position in Bioinformatics at the rank of ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR. Qualifications include a Ph.D. or M.D. degree with relevant experience in genomics, bioinformatics or computational biology, and a minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral experience in a relevant field. Preference will be given to outstanding candidates who can utilize computational and data-driven approaches to mine â??Big-Dataâ?? repositories in life sciences, especially the multi-omics datasets related to cancer biology. The ideal candidates will have research interests and experience that will complement ongoing research in genomics, bioinformatics and cancer biology areas in the Department and UNMC with a track record for excellence documented by publications and extramural funding (see https://www.unmc.edu/genetics/research/index.html). The applicant will be expected to have an independent research program and to contribute significantly to our departmental educational programs through teaching and mentorship.
