Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics and the Child Health Research Institute (CHRI) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center invite applications for an Assistant Professor position with the primary responsibility to conduct research in the fields of bone and cartilage with an expected start of early 2019. Candidates must have a PhD or an MD/PhD and more than 5 years of postdoctoral experience in developmental biology, molecular biology, and genomics relevant to the areas of bone and cartilage biology. Expertise in animal models to study bone and cartilage disorders is strongly preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and productively are required. The ideal candidate is expected to establish a dynamic, cutting-edge, externally funded program in skeletal biology research and to actively participate in teaching and mentoring graduate and post-graduate trainees. The candidate is expected to foster collaborations with faculty across the Department of Pediatrics and the CHRI and affiliated organizations to further the Department's and CHRI's research mission. The environment in the CHRI and UNMC at large is highly supportive and interactive, including joint research meetings and seminars in various aspects of cell and developmental biology.
