An NIAID/NIH-funded Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available to study membrane organization in chlamydial organisms and the chlamydial inclusion membrane in the laboratory of Dr. Elizabeth Rucks in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The position will conduct studies on the chlamydial hijacking of host SNARE proteins (eukaryotic proteins involved in membrane fusion events) and how chlamydial recruitment of host lipids impacts chlamydial membrane organization. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, independent, and hypothesis-driven scientist who will be expected to participate in training of graduate students, lab meetings, and other duties appropriate to the applicantâ??s career goals.
