POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE This NIMH-funded project will investigate the cell-type specific building blocks of behavior, focusing on the role and vulnerability of interneurons. We will study Gene*Environment (G*E) interaction, and ask how transgenic mouse phenotypes change when exposed to a disease-predisposing environmental challenge (e.g maternal immune activation). The successful candidate will handle and inject transgenic mice, remove and dissect the brain regions, genotype, isolate RNA, submit RNA for RNAseq experiments, perform qPCR, prepare samples for neurochemistry. Perform mouse behavioral assessments under various conditions, analyze/integrate the data and write first drafts of the manuscripts.
