Job Description

Laboratory with strong background in characterization of functional roles of extracellular vesicles in HIV/SIV neuropathogenesis and methamphetamine abuse is seeking a motivated and independent postdoctoral research associate. Study involves the role of extracellular vesicles and non-coding RNA in a . An active area of investigation is the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms that control interactions between microglia, macrophages, neurons and extracellular vesicles, and the functional role of extracellular non-coding RNA in methamphetamine addiction biology. Experience with behavioral models used in addiction neuroscience (e.g., locomotion, place conditioning, self-administration) would be considered a strength. A Ph.D. degree with a strong background in molecular & cellular neuroscience or addiction biology or related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to contribute to existing programs as well as to develop their own research program. Previous experience in the field of neuroscience, addiction biology, exosomes, non-coding RNA and animal models of disease are desirable. Candidates should be able to work with rodents specifically rats and willing to learn and develop self-administration model in the laboratory. Candidates must have a strong publication record and should have very good oral and written communication skills.
