Technical Writer

This position is responsible for producing high-quality writing for various content types. This includes blog posts, technical and application notes for various products and product use, scientific posters, product descriptions and other technical materials. This position will develop, write and edit a variety of print and online documents related to product use. This person will also assist with other scientific and marketing communications efforts as needed to ensure success, consistency and effectiveness by supporting company marketing directives.



  1. Collaborate with manager, other staff and departments to identify needs for formats and written product use or explanation.
  2. Write, edit, and proof product materials including instructions for use, assays, flyers, blog posts, technical and application notes for various products and product use, scientific posters, product descriptions and other technical materials and related items based on established style guidelines.
  3. Assist with press releases, product announcements, newsletters, emails and presentations for technical writing needs.
  4. Manage multiple project priorities including product launches, trade shows, conferences and marketing campaigns as well as special requests from internal and external partners.
  5. Gather material for writing assignments from Product Managers, Business Development, R&D and other departments and sources as needed.
  6. Confer with Product Management, Regulatory, Business Development and other personnel and departments as needed and applicable to become familiar with new regulations and product technologies.
  7. Organize material and complete writing assignments in accordance with set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, formatting, terminology and grammar.
  8. Edit, standardize or make changes as needed to material provided by others.
  9. Meet with stakeholders/customers/peers to discuss or review technical writing projects as needed.
  10. Conduct research and information gathering with partners and departments to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical data, drawings and specifications
  11. Perform other assignments as requested or required.



  1. Minimum of bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or another related field.
  2. Previous experience in communications role within a corporate or agency environment, or related experience preferred.
  3. Dependable, well organized, detail oriented, and able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing.
  4. Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
  5. Candidate must possess superb verbal and written communication skills.
