Benefit Analyst to join our growing Group Benefits team!

Summary of what you’ll be responsible for:

You will become an integral part of the Large Group (>100 lives) team and act as the central focal point for technical client needs. You will prepare client renewals, handle monthly claims analysis and stewardship reports, manage internal systems, track client compensation and perform special projects as needed.

 

You should have experience working in the insurance industry or in an office environment with responsibility for analysis and planning. A love for Microsoft Excel is a must since you’ll be manipulating spreadsheets on a daily basis.

 

The details of what you’ll handle:

  • Handling the client renewal for SilverStone Group clients by including basic data and renewal history, obtaining renewal rates from carrier, including any plan design alternatives and commission changes.
  • Preparing bid specifications for prospective clients or renewal clients; obtaining quotes from carriers, preparing preliminary analysis and interpretation of bids/quotes; examining and summarizing carrier financial ratings.
  • Preparing mid-year planning reports; researching and summarizing plan design, rate history, claims history, utilization data, benchmark data, and carrier financial ratings.
  • Attending and participating in client meetings several times a year.
  • Maintaining internal client files, records and databases
     
    If you’re the right person for this opportunity, you will have: 
  • At least two years of experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Previous experience in group benefits is a plus.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain state life, accident and health insurance license required.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Health Insurance Associate (HIA) designation preferred.
  • CEBS courses preferred.
     
    Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
