This position reports to the Director and Actuary, Marketing Analytics, and provides insights and leadership in improving cross-channel marketing efforts. The incumbent will be responsible for developing solutions to monitor and measure online and offline prospect and customer experience, and discovering insights to optimize marketing programs and making recommendations. Determines profitability of cross-channel marketing programs, accurately attributing value back to marketing dollars spent. Designs, develops, tests and implements statistical programs to track and forecast metrics for customer marketing campaigns to support Demand Generation, Journey Management and Sales Management functions. Identifies actionable customer segments based on customer behaviors. Identifies marketing opportunities and evaluates effectiveness of media selections and makes recommendations to improve results, manage promotion costs and improve program effectiveness. Communicates key insights using visualization and storytelling, representing Division or Department manager in corporate meetings or presentations as assigned.
- MA or MS degree in Math/Statistics, Analytics, Data Science, Actuarial Science or IT related experience is required. 4+ years of experience in statistically based data analytics BI Application role with programming analysis tools as follows:
- Fluency in SQL
- Experience with web reporting tools, such as Google Analytics, Webtrends, Google AdWords, etc. is required
- Expert knowledge of data warehousing and data access needed to efficiently troubleshoot problems. Must understand both the technical aspect and the user requirements in an effort to deliver the best solution
- Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as Tableau or Power BI required
- Experience with Database Query tools and data integration tools is required. (i.e.: Visual Basic, Toad, SAS, SQL, Tableau, MS Access, Excel etc.) Strong knowledge of the GUI front end as well as the base programming language to fully understand how the system works and the capabilities of the system
- Experience with at least one scripting language such as PowerShell
- Experience working with large data sets, leveraging distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Nutch, etc.) a plus
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics):
- Ability to apply knowledge of various programs and languages, programming skills, etc., for purposes of writing new programs, determining and correcting errors in existing programs
- Strong knowledge in physical database administration concepts, Business Intelligence concepts and tools such as DB2, SQL, JCL, Visual Basic.net, Brio, SAS, Access, Excel and Tableau.
- In-depth understanding of Company's data sources, data structures, operating systems, and reporting systems.
- Understanding of paid search, behavioral marketing, social media, e-mail marketing, SEO and digital advertising
- Solid understanding of cross-channel insurance marketing, business operations, and reporting requirements with the ability to deliver insights that will drive the business forward
- Understanding of the key performance indicators and metrics that impact the customer experience
- Adaptable and flexible to the constantly changing needs of a business partners
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work under pressure of multiple interrelated deadlines
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to analyze and forecast financial and performance data
