Email Marketing Specialist

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  1. Oversee all aspects of the marketing campaign process for assigned accounts, including planning, building, testing, analysis
  2. Analyze marketing campaigns results and implement recommended changes
  3. Develop and implement new campaign ideas and promotional strategies to help build and expand the email marketing program
  4. Work with email service provider to optimize targeting, acquisition and retention opportunities
  5. Conduct weekly review and ROI analysis of the program and track to forecast
  6. Identify file growth opportunities and oversee the execution
  7. Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
  8. Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  9. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice
  10. Work in the Marketing Department office environment requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors


Marginal Functions

  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with teams in marketing, creative, paid search, legal, and merchandising to execute against all deliverables
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and report on trending and untapped opportunities
  • Work with IT team to implement new or enhanced partner data feeds for customized technology integrations related to the email program
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Able to work independently to achieve a successful result with minimal guidance
  • Technically savvy and able to learn new concepts and software applications quickly
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting in front of a group
  • Confident to handle multiple projects simultaneously and under deadlines.
  • Able to work with cross-functional teams
  • Able to manage accounts to maximize partnerships and relationships
  • Results-oriented with a strong drive for achievement
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels including internal senior management, team members and external strategic business contacts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Minimum three years of online marketing experience required
  • Email marketing experience preferred


Other Qualifications and Physical Requirements

  • Able to perform job duties in a safe manner


Equipment Utilization

Utilizes a PC, printer, phone, fax, copier, and other general office equipment.


Dimensions of Responsibility

Analyzes email marketing and site content results, derives conclusions and actionable insights and executes against department deliverables.
