Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  1. Generate various daily, weekly and monthly reports and summaries
  2. Maintain and update all customer concern data from multiple sources that define, quantify and report status/resolution of product reviews
  3. Coordinate stock sample orders with Fulfillment and Transportation
  4. Work with Incoming Inspection to retrieve and compare approval versus production samples when quality problems arise
  5. Inspect product and determine steps required to address issue and improve customer satisfaction, while maintaining product cost and fill rate metrics
  6. Research product issues, compile statistics, gather and compute various data; prepare special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant data
  7. Ensure all customer concerns are efficiently addressed
  8. Partner with Product Quality Coordinators on claims, AQL, shelf life, and packaging changes related to customer concerns
  9. Coordinate communication within the company and overseas agents to

ensure successful corrective action is implemented and issue is resolved

  1. Motivate and enlist cooperation with other team members to maximize

results. Prepare, control, document and communicate issues, schedules,

and results for quality problems to all necessary associates

  1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  2. Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
  3. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice
  4. Work in the Merchandising Department office environment requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors

 

 

Marginal Functions

  1. Serves to represent OTC to the general community, promoting the best interest

    of OTC

  1. Performs other duties and projects as assigned
  2. Provides assistance to manager, supervisor and other team members as

    needed

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form

2.Ability to efficiently operate PC and various software including but not limited to

Internet, AS400, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Access, Excel, & Word.   Requires a minimum of 35 WPM

  1. Ability to adjust to frequent changes in policies and processes
  2. Ability to prioritize and work efficiently and independently on multiple tasks and

initiatives to meet priority deadlines

  1. Must possess effective problem solving, analytical, technical writing skills and be

highly organized

  1. Ability to manage stress and handle difficult situations in a professional manner
  2. Ability to understand problems and business objectives
  3. Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
  4. Ability to perform job duties in a safe manner

  

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree in Business or equivalent preferred

 

Experience

  • Minimum one year experience with updating and maintaining spreadsheets and

databases

  • Previous quality control or quality assurance experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Access, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • AS400 experience preferred

 

 

Other Qualifications and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 35-50 pounds to waist level occasionally

 

Equipment Utilization

PC, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, package dolly, and digital camera

 

Dimensions of Responsibility

Responsible for timely and effective communication and maintenance of product

quality and BazaarVoice functions critical to maintaining the brand. Receives written

and verbal instructions from the Manager and Supervisor of the department.

 

Description of Working Conditions

Works in a busy and fast-paced office environment with occasional warehouse

environment tasks.
