This role is responsible for the full lifecycle management of one or more of OPPD's products and/or programs. This usually involves but is not limited to: evaluating customer needs, creating a design that will address those needs and working with the teams who actually build the product to ensure that it meets the intended goal. These products and programs would typically include new but lower complexity solutions, OPPD's long standing product sets, and traditionally industry standard customer solutions. OPPD's risk opportunities that typically include innovative and emerging industry transformations that OPPD will leverage to lead the way we power the future.

1. Accountable for the leadership and execution of all activities related to product lifecycle management. Typically assigned lower complexity/long standing product sets and industry standard solution sets.

  • Identify market opportunities and define product vision and strategy. Develop and maintain an 18-month roadmap of established priorities.
  • Manages products through their entire life cycle and supports decisions regarding enhancements throughout the lifecycle until product end of life or re-innovation.
  • Understand customer needs, gather product requirements and provide simple interpretation.
  • Write functional specifications including requirements and detailed user cases and storyboards for new product features.
  • Coordinate the analysis that drives product pricing, bundling and performance metrics.
  • Oversee the product performance reporting throughout lifecycle including product strategy, product planning and issue prioritization.
  • Leads business case development for enhancements or new products.


2. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise with regard to assigned products and programs.

  • Keep abreast of the evolving needs of customers, perceived value/willingness to pay, and competitor analytics offers and solutions.
  • Be market facing and internal SME on the product you support.
  • Develop knowledge of assigned product specifics/metrics (costs to build and maintain, delivery costs, client's willingness to pay, market size, etc.) to determine product priorities, areas of focus, resource allocation, and product portfolio success.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how assigned products and solutions fulfill customer needs. Represent the voice of the customer.
  • Assess the market landscape to identify product gaps, threats, and strategic opportunities.


  1. Facilitate and lead the identification, selection and ongoing relationship management of contracted vendors.
    • Support RFI processes hardware/software requirements.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions of mutual contracts, agreements and/or memorandums of understanding.
    • Monitor product operations for adherence to agreed upon terms between OPPD and the vendor.




  • Two (2) years of experience in a product management, product development or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong business analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent consumer facing products.
  • Proven ability to innovate and come up with ideas to help drive the product forward. 


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Excellent project management skills, delivery oriented.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Capable of thinking tactically and strategically.
  • Strong ˜doer' mentality; ability to drive ideas from concept to completion.
  • Certifications in Product Management from Product Development Management Association, Association of International Product Marketing & Management or related organization.
