Job Description

Responsibilities

 

The Accounting Analyst II provides accurate and timely support in preparing, and reviewing corporate accounting records and reports to ensure compliance with accounting standards.  This position assists in the maintenance of accounting systems, procedures and policies.  The Accounting Analyst II will prepare billing statements for customer related work, damage to District property and other miscellaneous billings.

  1. Responsible for billing to various parties.
  • Prepare timely and accurate job order billings for state and highway projects, customer requested work and other miscellaneous billings.
  1. Responsible for the analysis and coordination of property damage claim billings with key stakeholders.
  • Analyze labor costs to establish billing rate for property damage claims.
  1. Responsible for the capitalization of property records.
  • Responsible for the review of charges, determination of property units and accurate and timely clearance of work orders.  Prepare accurate allocation of costs to set up property units on the District's records. 
  • Maintain accounting records for capital assets.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely updates of daily and monthly controls and reports for accounts payable and inventory transactions, work order transactions, and the preparation of monthly reports and reconciliations.
  • Develop and maintain programs, queries, databases, spreadsheets and reports needed for applications, asset accounting, external agencies and miscellaneous corporate billings.

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field or related experience.
  • One (1) year of accounting, auditing, or related experience
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Requires thoroughness, accuracy and excellent documentation skills
  • Basic knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
