Department: Design Engineering
Location: Energy Plaza Corporate Office, Omaha, NE
Duration: January 2020 August 2020
Work Schedule: 8 hrs/day, 5 days/week
Assist full time engineers with the evaluation, design and implementation of modifications at OPPD generation facilities. This includes, but is not limited to, researching drawings, inspecting field conditions, creating sketches, attending meetings, extracting data from plant data systems, creating spreadsheets, analyzing problems, checking and performing calculations, performing economic evaluations, marking/updating drawings, inspecting equipment and overseeing construction activities.
Specific fields of study required: Mechanical Engineering
2.5 GPA or higher is required
Sophomore or higher college level
Current full-time student attending an accredited college/university
Technical Ability (i.e. software): Microsoft Word & Excel - Beginning CAD skills a plus
Must have valid drivers license
Must handle objects with hands and see information in print & electronically. Frequently required to stand, walk, speak, hear and keyboard. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist. Occasionally required to climb up/down stairs or ladders, work at heights or work in confined spaces. Prefer individuals willing to return and work Spring/ Summer of 2021 but not required.
