Responsibilities

 

The Customer Operations Analyst supports the department responsibility  for gathering researching, analyzing, interpreting, forecasting and reporting actionable insights from customer operational data for credit and collections, meter reading, billing, and business maintenance for products, programs and services to develop metrics, business processes, and reports to support Customer Operations.

1. Analyze operational data; identify key performance indicators, metrics and benchmarks for Customer Operations.

  • Monitor operational data, track progress to goals and analyze performance.
  • Assist manager and department to help improve overall performance.
  • Convert data into dialogue to develop practical solutions and recommendations

     

2. Collect best in class/best practices from an industry perspective by leveraging various benchmarking data sources to analyze industry and customer trends and identify potential opportunities to improve OPPD.

  • Research best in class/best practices from various industries around operational data and trends.
  • Design new business processes to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead the collection of data for periodic reports and presentations required by stakeholders, management and board of directors.

 

3. Develop and distribute performance reporting as scheduled/defined.

  • Identify operational gaps conduct root cause analysis and develop recommendations to improve/align performance with defined performance objectives.
  • Create monthly and quarterly reports based on data trends and make recommendations for management to review and provide to stakeholders.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques to transforming data into dialogue. 

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Data Science or three (3) years of related experience
  • Strong mathematical, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Programming skills in Structured Query Language, predictive analysis and data mining.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge - Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of OPPD's Customer Service, Energy Delivery business systems including Customer Information system (CIS); Meter Data Management (MDM); Pragma (CAD); OPPD's Electric Rate Schedules and Service Regulations.
  • Experience in computer programming, Tableau, or other data extracting programs.
  • Statistical analysis
