Essential job duties include:

  • Oversees the performance of and assists as needed in all maintenance functions for the property that he/she is assigned.  Diligently follows the directions given from the Department Manager, Facilities Director and Division Head.  Maintains a clean and safe shop environment..
  • Oversees and assists as necessary the following; machine repair, part orders, inventory, purchasing, purchasing, necessary record keeping to ensure proper and safe working order of all equipment.  Is responsible for job performance appraisals as his/her area requires.  Trains, schedules and disciplines all employees within their area.Responds to maintenance calls/requests in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Dismantles equipment/machines and makes proper repair. Verifies corrections before task or job is complete. Responds with personnel via two-way radio.
  • Assists Maintenance Manager in interviews, corrective action decisions, terminations, as well as development of motivational schemes.  Must display the principals of OS ethics policy and promote high morale in others Performs various chemical tests, QA and safety work orders or PMs.
  • Inspects mechanical equipment for proper operation. Notifies supervisor or makes corrections to equipment. Oversees and coordinates with Facilities Manager on the safety checks of equipment at their property
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring that each employee under his/her supervision works safely.  Responsible for ensuring compliance with government & OSHA regulations such as Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Electrical, Machine Guarding, Power Equipment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Personal Protective Equipment as required (ie. safety glasses, face shield, welding hood, hard toe boots, hearing protection), etc.  Follows Return-to-Work Program, Ergonomics Program, and Safe Lifting guidelines.  Ensures timely reporting of accidents (within 24 hours).  Assists Safety Specialists with accident investigations for his/her department and implements corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Directly administers the security of the building to which he/she is assigned and reports this to the Maintenance Manager.
  • May be required to perform maintenance work at different facilities from time to time as needed including afterhours calls.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Knowledge and skills of automated conveyors, commercial refrigeration, industrial plumbing and electrical systems, building repair, commercial HVAC, power equipment repair, and Arpac equipment.
  • Knowledge of PC and running MP2, and skills in operating a variety of power equipment..
  • Knowledge of plant machinery and preventative maintenance methods. Ability to identify equipment malfunctions and safety hazards.
  • Supervisory skills, knowledge of budgeting of scheduling work..
  • Ability to manage a group of experienced maintenance mechanics.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and be self-directed.
  • Effective communication skills.


Schedule Requirements:

  • This is a full-time, first shift position. Please plan to work approximately 7:00am until 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Plan to work some Saturdays.
