Essential job duties include:

  • Establishes relationships within local culinary community. Schedules in-store guest appearances with culinary experts including local chefs, culinary schools, foodies and food bloggers.
  • Facilitates in-store demonstrations, tastings and technique classes designed to engage guests and drive sales. Delivers grilling and smoking tips and provides informative product handouts and expert culinary advice to store guests.
  • Trains store sales team on culinary activities to enhance knowledge of product preparation and ensure store-wide awareness of culinary events.
  • Consults with product development team to identify best products for demonstration and coordinate special events. Works with Creative Group to create handout materials that highlight features and benefits of demonstrated products.
  • Responsible for pre-event set-up and post-event clean-up. Ensures all equipment used in demonstrations receives regular, routine maintenance and is in proper working order.
  • Assists with management of store including hiring, training, ordering, scheduling, motivation and discipline. Coaches staff to constantly improve sales standards. Creates work schedules to maximize sales while adhering to budget.
  • Ensures store sales, sales per hour, average ticket, customer service and customer retention and satisfaction objectives are achieved through staff. Implements promotions to increase sales by developing new customers and retaining existing ones. Assists management with store merchandising. Creates a visually enticing environment and ensures directives and executes visual guidelines.
  • Responsible for store security and ensuring proper procedures are followed for opening and closing. Serves as a backup for store managers and sales reps. Keeps store neat, clean and makes sure the physical appearance is maintained.
  • Works with the Omaha retail team to coordinate special events and promote culinary calendar to store guests.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 2-year college degree in sales or marketing or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of food and cooking practices.
  • Advanced skills in use of commercial and consumer kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of wine-pairing a plus.
  • 1-2 years previous retail sales experience required. Knowledge of effective interviewing and recruiting locally. Previous hiring/dismissal and supervisory experience preferred. Understands visual merchandising and stock keeping standards. Knowledge of sales and merchandising techniques.
  • Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with multiple customers and project at the same time. Ability to cope with the unpredictable sales and work flow volume.
  • Keyboarding ability. Must be able to enter data quickly and efficiently. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledgeable of local laws and OSHA standards.

Schedule Requirements:

  • Store Hours: Monday through Saturday 10-8pm & Sunday 10-6pm. This is a full-time position. The work schedule will vary based on store needs.
