Major Duties:

-  Reviews documents received from broker, such as settlement agreement and release, qualified assignment, minors' compromise, trust documents, conservator/guardianship papers and other essential documents for accuracy and completeness.  Identifies discrepancies, handles routine problems, and forwards unusual discrepancies or problems to Annuity/Structured Settlement Administrator or others for action.  Reviews rush document approval requests on simple or standard documents and advises broker of acceptability within underwriting authority.  Contacts brokers and attorneys by telephone, email, or mail to correct inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise problematic documents and to obtain missing documents.  Reviews identified errors on accounts outside of underwriting authority with others for specific action to be taken.

-   Determines type of structure (qualified vs. nonqualified, assigned vs. non-assigned) and advises/requests proper documents from broker. Identifies and corrects with Sales Team, CT Office, Finance Department and brokers contracts to be reassigned between life insurance companies to ensure the proper insurance company is the annuity issuer conforming to each Company's state authority. 

  

-  Answers annuity and structured settlement questions via phone calls and written requests from attorneys, brokers and others and serves as back up for annuitant questions. Serves as a primary contact for basic questions and correspondence from brokers and attorneys.  Prepares written response to routine correspondence from various parties such as annuitants, attorneys, claimants/payees, brokers, in-house claims personnel, and others by handling inquiries/problems.  Brings non-routine broker and attorney questions/issues to the attention of the Annuity/Structured Settlement Underwriter, Sr. Underwriter, Administrator, Corporate Operations Manager or Legal Staff, as appropriate, and assists as directed.

-  Records actions taken/file status in ImageRight for annuity and structured settlement files.  Knowledgeable in use and maintenance of filing systems and workflows using ImageRight.  Assists with ImageRight developments and improvements.  Receives incoming material, assigns workflows and handles activities as situation dictates.     

-  Acts as liaison for Company by providing excellent customer service, maintaining positive corporate image through communications and personal contacts with annuitants, attorneys, claimants/payees, brokers, Company personnel, etc.

-  Performs administrative support duties which include answering incoming calls on a multi-line telephone and supplying information or relaying messages, photocopying and creating/maintaining files.  Processing messages via email and facsimile.   

-  Performs special projects or related duties as assigned or as situation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (*minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job function)

Required Knowledge:

* Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

* Basic math

Preferred Knowledge:

* Insurance and estate terminology

* Insurance related courses such as CSSC

* Company guidelines on acceptability for cases/documents/contracts

* Department practices and procedures

* 1-2 years related work experience

* Personal computer and related software such as Word, Excel, and Access

Skills:

* Excellent oral and written communication
