Position Highlights
Nebraska Medicine is recruiting a Psychologist with leadership experience to manage its Psychology Department, Chronic Pain Management Program and Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Behavioral Health team. Responsibilities include leadership in all areas of human resource management, clinical supervision, budget management, performance improvement, marketing, business development, and strategic planning for three departments with 29 FTE's including professional and administrative staff. The psychologist will also maintain a small clinical caseload. The Psychology Department, with nine full-time clinical psychologists and three psychology interns, is a dynamic and collaborative service responsible for outpatient and inpatient evaluation, consultation, and treatment for patients from several multidisciplinary teams within the hospital, including Bariatric Surgery, Transplantation Services, Oncology, Psychiatry and Primary Care. The Chronic Pain Management Program is a multidisciplinary, four-week, daylong treatment program, designed to help individuals with chronic non-malignant pain. Our PCMH behavioral health team is comprised of eight providers (psychologists and LMHPs) embedded in Nebraska Medicine's primary care clinics throughout the Omaha metro area. Nebraska Medicine is the teaching hospital for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the largest healthcare facility and only public academic health science center in Nebraska.

Direct, plan, and coordinate the operations of assigned departments and programs. Achieve department and organizational goals and ensure optimal outcomes for designated patient populations within approved operating budget. Responsible for the hiring, firing, counseling and evaluation of department staff. Initiate and maintain effective intra and inter-departmental communication to promote positive relations. Additionally, independently provide psychological services (e.g., evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation) to patients within the organization and affiliated institutions.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of five years experience practicing in a medical setting required.
* Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited or equivalent doctoral program with an APA/CPA accredited OR equivalent doctoral internship required.
* Flexibility and dedication to team environment required.
* Ability to lead and develop teams required.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
* Ability to anticipate and respond effectively to changes in direction and priorities required.
* Well-ordered approach to problem solving required.
* Licensed as a Psychologist or license-eligible in Nebraska required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Managerial experience in a health care setting preferred.
