Duties: Pharmacy Technician - Sterile Compounding
Perform sterile compounding according to policy and regulations including USP 797 and USP 800. Maintain competency in use of all equipment and programs related to performing sterile compounding. Participate in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including medication and supply ordering, receiving, and maintenance. Troubleshoot equipment, hardware, and software issues relating to compounding. Participate in completing and documenting all cleaning and monitoring activities identified for areas related to sterile compounding. Practice critical and focused thinking and perform calculations as needed to validate activities. Work within a team to triage and respond to all compounding needs in a timely manner, following supervisor shift pharmacists' oversight. Maintain ongoing didactic and practical training as related to sterile compounding.
Minimum Qualifications: Pharmacy Technician - Sterile Compounding
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
Minimum of six (6) months sterile compounding required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
Pharmacy Technician Certification within one year of licensed date required.
Internal Aseptic Technique certification completed within two weeks of hire required.
Preferred Qualifications: Pharmacy Technician - Sterile Compounding
One (1) or more years' experience in pharmacy sterile compounding preferred.
Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) compounding experience preferred.
