Cytotechnologist

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Cytologist. This role will be great for someone that is highly motivated and has a passion for the cytology laboratory. This applicant must have great customer service for our patients we serve.

Process, evaluate and prepare patient specimens for cytopathological examination according to department procedures using a wide range of technical and specialized knowledge. Perform routine cytological techniques which includes collection of Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA). Support continuous improvement of the anatomical pathology laboratory services of the organization to ensure high quality and timely pathology preparations for a quality diagnosis.

Shift:

  • First Shift
  • Full Time and benefits eligible (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week)
  • Monday - Friday (no weekends) (no call)

Required Qualifications:

  • Progressive, successful experience in cytology laboratory required.
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory sciences or related field OR Bachelor's degree and completion of a certified one year program in cytotechnology required.
  • Certified cytotechnologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (CT(ASCP)) required.
